Terms and Conditions

Last updated October 2, 2026. Please read these terms. They explain how Smart Cycle works, what we expect from you and what you can expect from us.

1. About these terms

By creating an account or using Smart Cycle (the app, we, us) you agree to these Terms and Conditions, the Medical Disclaimer and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Not medical advice

Smart Cycle is a personal tracking and education tool. It is not a medical device, a clinical service or a substitute for a doctor. Medication level curves, projections, lab range flags, calculators, coach messages and AI reports are estimates for information only and can be wrong or out of date.

Never start, stop or change any treatment because of something you see here. Talk to a qualified healthcare provider first. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. See the Medical Disclaimer in the app for the full wording.

3. Who can use Smart Cycle

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live. You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you, including those about medications and prescriptions.

Smart Cycle does not sell, supply, prescribe or recommend any medication, and it does not encourage anyone to obtain or use a substance illegally. The fact that an item can be tracked in the app does not mean it is approved, safe or legal where you live.

4. Your account

You sign in with your email address or a supported sign-in provider. Give accurate information, keep your email account secure and tell us if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Nicknames must not be offensive, misleading or impersonate someone else. We may change or remove a nickname or account that breaks these terms.

5. Your data

Your health data is yours. You give us only the permission we need to store, process and display it so the app can work for you. You can download a copy of your data and delete your account from your Profile at any time.

Your data is kept on your device and, when you are signed in, in our cloud database. How it is handled, and which service providers are involved, is described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your health data.

We work to keep your data safe and backed up, but no system is perfect. Please keep your own export if your records matter to you.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the app to break the law, to access another person's data or accounts, or to disrupt the service. Do not scrape, copy, clone or reverse engineer the app, its code, its data sets or its design, or use automated tools to extract content from it. Do not upload malicious files or abuse the AI features or any server endpoint.

7. Optional AI features

AI features (such as lab scanning, weekly reports and weight predictions) are optional and use your own Google Gemini API key. When you use them, the content you send goes to Google and is governed by Google's terms and privacy policy, not ours. You are responsible for your key, its quota and any charges on it.

Remove names, birth dates, addresses, ID and patient numbers and any other identifying details from documents before you upload them. AI output can be incorrect, so always check it against the original and with your healthcare provider.

8. Free today, and possible fees in the future

Smart Cycle was designed to be free for everyone, and we would like to keep it that way. Running it costs money (hosting, database storage, email delivery and bandwidth), and those costs grow with the number of people using the app and the amount of data stored.

For that reason we reserve the right to introduce, change or end fees, including a monthly and/or annual subscription, to limit what is available for free (for example storage, cloud sync or certain features), and to move some features into paid plans. Any such change would depend on the popularity of the app and the cost of keeping the servers running.

If we do this:

We will give you reasonable advance notice, at least 30 days, in the app and/or by email.
You will not be charged anything unless you clearly choose a paid plan. Prices and billing terms will be shown before you subscribe.
If you choose not to pay, you can keep using whatever remains free, or download all of your data and delete your account.
You will always be able to export your data.
If a plan is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's billing terms also apply.

Nothing in these terms obliges us to keep any feature, limit or price the same.

9. Availability and changes

The app is provided as it is. We may change, limit, interrupt or discontinue any part of it. If we ever plan to shut the service down, we will try to give you notice so you can export your data.

10. Ownership and credits

The app, its design, text, code and the compiled reference data belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-commercial, revocable licence to use the app. Icons, avatars and other third-party material remain the property of their creators and are credited in the app. Clinical trial averages and reference ranges come from public sources and may not reflect current guidelines or your situation.

11. No warranty

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Smart Cycle is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, error free or suitable for any particular purpose.

12. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, for loss of data, or for any health outcome or decision that follows from using the app.

If you do have a claim against us, the most we can owe you in total is the greater of two amounts: what you paid us for Smart Cycle in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. While the app is free, that means USD 50.

Some places do not allow these limits, and nothing here removes rights you cannot give up under your local consumer law.

13. Ending your use

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if your use puts the service or other people at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue after that, such as ownership, warranty and liability, will continue.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator of Smart Cycle resides, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where your local consumer protection law requires otherwise.
